Juan Romera
Co-Founder & CEO
Juan has over 15 years of experience in finance and technology. He graduated from Dartmouth College prior to beginning his career in consulting with PwC. He moved to Barclays in the investment banking division in NYC, structuring financial derivatives and advising Fortune 500 companies.

Juan left Wall Street in 2016 to pursue deeper meaning and positive impact. He spent 18 months in Berlin, Mexico City and Cape Town, advising and mentoring early stage companies while exploring the world and himself.

He got the opportunity to work as a Business Associate at the Techstars Fintech Accelerator to advise Fintech startups, where he later joined Abe.ai - a Techstars company, as Head of Business Development.

Juan has been a leader in strategy, sales, partnerships, business development and product evangelism, most notably at Abe.ai, which was eventually acquired by Envestnet, Inc. Most recently, Juan worked as a director within Product Marketing at Envestnet | Yodlee as part of the Abe.ai acquisition.

Juan has made it his life’s mission to change the way people perceive mental wellbeing and the associated practices, which have transformed his own life over the past six years. Juan wants to make mental wellbeing more approachable and expand these powerful tools to broader audiences, or as he puts it “help take people from zero to one”.

Within Indigo, Juan is working on leading a new venture that will offer a smart card for corporate health and wellness programs and expand the benefits of wellness activities and initiatives to a broader audience.
Afelio is a service that simplifies access to physical and mental wellness benefits for employees, while providing a curated list of providers proven to improve well-being and productivity, all powered by a rechargeable smart card.

Afelio further enhances the process with real-time spending authorization, analytics on employee usage, and delivering unique wellness content/research to employees.
